I almost hate this book because it's telling me all these things that I don't want to hear but really need to.
I have found this book to be extremely helpful, it contains a lot of good suggestions & advice on applying Biblical lessons to our everyday lives. I love her voice in this book. It's humorous, but also real and down to earth. I feel like she really relates to the reader, giving us great stories and examples from her own life and the lives of those she's crossed paths with. She covers a lot of the struggles most of us face when studying the bible and wondering, "What's Next? What do I do now? What is the meaning of this?"
I've picked up quite a few great bible verses that I have adopted for myself and review on a regular basis. Highly recommend!

Lysa's book alone is wonderful, but when you add the DVD and participant's guide, it becomes more complete! Her choice of Scriptures, personal experiences, and down-to-earth 'talk' are exactly what I needed to help me in my walk with my Christ! | This book will help you in more ways than one. Lysa gets to the heart of being more than just someone who goes thru the reading and filling in the blanks of a Bible study. She is funny, relate-able and encouraging. We recently finished this study in our women's Sunday school class using the video presentation. It was very good and I plan to go thru the study again on my own to really solidify some of the points she makes in becoming the woman that God wants you to be. I haven't actually finished the book, but I've liked what I've read so far. I'm just not much of a non-fiction reader, which is why I struggle to finish the book. It's not really told me anything new, but neither has it annoyed me, as non-fiction how-to-be-better books so often do.
On the other hand, I'm not sure why it's got a ton of 5 star reviews either. The author's writing style is nice but a bit silly sometimes (silly as to the point of ugh or ick; the sort where if you were her kid you'd have hand to head and be saying "Moooooooommmmm, you're so corny" all whiny-like).
