Item Description... Overview From the tapestried halls of Victorian England to the alabaster courts of Arabia, The Kensington Chronicles will sweep you far away to another time and place.
For years Lord Gallagher's family thought Sunny had perished with Lady Gallagher in storm-tossed seas off the Arabian coast. Unknown to them, the beautiful violet-eyed toddler had been found and taken to the palace of Darhabar, where she was raised as the ruler's own child. Now the emir, Ahmad Khan, had contacted the family and asked them to send a ship for her. Why after all this time? And what of the mysterious gift he had sent with her?
Brandon Hawkesbury, friend to the Gallaghers and appealing young captain of the vessel, gazed at Sunny as she came aboard. It would not be easy for the restless girl to accept a new life...a new family...a new faith.
Brandon put aside these thoughts as he turned his ship toward sea. For now, Sunny was going home. What lay ahead was in God's hands.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | The Hawk and the Jewel Jan 3, 2007 |
| I think that Lori Wick has outdone herself in this series. Loved the book and I've read it several times since buying it 3 months ago. | | | | A Christian story with passion... Dec 12, 2006 |
I am a happily married Christian woman... with a passionate love of beautiful love stories. And this is one of my favorites.
The story starts out giving the background of young Sunny's life in Arabian Darhabar, and how it changes as she is brought by Captain Hawksbury, the Duke of Briscoe, to her long-lost family in England. Then the story moves on as the years pass and Sunny grows up. Not many writers can successfully tell the story of a romance that bridges years, but Lori Wick has done it well in this one. The story keeps you interested without seeming to drag through the first half, and when the romance starts creeping in, it just gets better. We really get to see inside Brandon's heart as he discovers that he has fallen in love with Sunny. We also get to feel the strength of the passion that love brings... which I don't think that Christian writers often do all that well.
So try this book, if you haven't yet. And then try "Wings of the Morning"... the story of Captain Dallas Knight, who appears briefly in this book. (And check out my lists and reviews for other good clean romances.) | | | | Good reading Aug 29, 2006 |
| This kept me going all the way through. I read the entire Kensington Chronicle Series. I don't know which book was the best. Lori Wick has a new fan! | | | | A great surprise! Jun 18, 2006 |
| I didn't expect to like this book...it looked like traditional Christian fiction, very romantic and sweet, but usually too saccrine for my tastes. But it was definitely worth the time. Although it is very "sweet," it has great characters! The only complaint I have is that you barely got any time with Sunny and Brandon actually together as a couple. But they are referred to in the next two books in the series so you get a little bit. | | | | This is an excellent book Jul 22, 2005 |
This book was one of Lori Wick's best ever. The whole plot of the story-with Sunny being raised in India and suddenly sent back to London- was fascinating. I recommend every Lori Wick fan to read this book.
