Hey American Idol, I've found the 'wow' factor! Mar 8, 2007
I think everyone who hears Chris Tomlin will pretty much agree that he is an awesome singer and preformer but for me this CD put him over the top. The first song I heard from this CD was actually on the radio, the live version of How Great Is Our God. What an awesome song! Even though you will find all these songs spread out over his other CDs, this is a must for everyone's library because of the participation of the crowd as well as the way that Chris really seems to help us all to step right into the throne room of God.
Great CD!!! Jan 19, 2007

Awesome! Jan 4, 2007
This CD is a must have for all fans of contemporary Christian music, not just fans of Chris Tomlin. The live versions of How Great is Our God and If God is on Our Side are simply fantastic.
Worth every penny Oct 15, 2006
I was reluctant to buy this album since it is just a rehash of previously recorded songs. However, I'm so glad it bought it! This is the most fun and upbeat Chris Tomlin CD. Some of the live tracks are better than the original recordings. Great CD to workout to.
Defnitively Chris Aug 20, 2006
Live from Austin Music Hall is a 45 minute love offering to Tomlin's fans. You're not going to find anything you haven't heard before on Live; instead you will find those songs that are definitively Chris, which mark him as one of the greatest songwriters of this generation. This CD ought to come with a warning label not to listen to it in your car. Caution: May cause driver to close eyes and lift hands.
The album begins with 10 seconds of adulation from excited fans. It's broken by a bare piano setting the tone as one of worship rather than a concert frenzy. Tomlin's clear and instantly recognizable voice breaks out into song, with his fans singing along in surprising unity. It is a rare moment when all hearts are turned to none other than the Creator, and Tomlin's purpose is made clear - to bring all in attendance to humility and reverence to the Indescribable One above.
The pace quickens on the second track, Forever. You can hear the over-capacity crowd when Chris asks them to sing with him, yet they don't overpower him when it's his voice that is the center. Kindness brings the tempo back down. His fans have every lyric memorized and sing backups in a chorus of praise.
The band is fantastic, especially the guitars. The solo on Unchanging is a delight to the ears. It's here and on the following track that we can feel it's live, with a let-loose feel. On Our Side gets a funky guitar and a guest appearance by David Crowder (of the David Crowder Band). The instrumentation drops out for the catchy chorus with a back and forth with the audience. It's one of those songs that will stick in your head, and you'll be singing it long after the CD is over.
A lot of live albums suffer because of the sparse production involved meaning what you hear is what you get, but Tomlin's voice is just as strong in person as it is on the album. His pitch is perfect. You get exactly what you'd expect from the GMA artist of the year. That beauty is clear on This is Our God, a love song for the Savior. The thing about Chris Tomlin, especially on this album, is that I completely believe him. There's no put on. It's less a performance than it is his including thousands of others with him in worship.
The standout of this CD is Tomlin's mega-hit How Great is Our God. What makes it a standout is the seamless transition into one of the greatest hymns of all time, How Great Thou Art. Two songs that are destined to be sung in heaven, intertwined in a confident veneration. Magnificent.
Tomlin ends with Famous One. Lovely song and a fitting end. What is precious about it, though, is his boyish enthusiasm when the song concludes. Does he not know what an incredibly rare talent he is? His humility is genuine and refreshing.
This CD will make you want to book tickets for his next appearance. It almost compels you to.
